About Us
Dr. Oscar Walsh is a General Practitioner who specialises in LGBTQI+ health particularly in the areas of sexual health and gender affirming care.
Dr. Walsh aims to assist in easing patient access to GPs in particularly for those Australians in regional, rural and remote areas who can otherwise struggle to access healthcare.
Due to Medicare restrictions around telehealth, only consultations in the following areas will attract a Medicare rebate:
Sexual Health
Reproductive health (e.g. gender affirming care)
Blood borne viruses (e.g. PrEP)
Urgent after-hours service
Other areas if you have had a face-to-face consultation with Dr. Walsh at another clinic in the last 12 months
Otherwise, unless you are MyMedicare registered with our practice, you will unfortunately not be eligible for a Medicare rebate.
Services Offered
Sexual Health
Testing, counselling and treatment of sexually transmitted infections
PrEP prescribing for HIV prevention
DoxyPEP
Vaccination advice and prescribing e.g. Hepatitis A/B, Monkeypox, HPV
Reproductive Health
Gender affirming care utilising an informed consent model - this can include hormone prescribing and facilitation of referrals
Early pregnancy assessment, screening and management
MS2Step prescribing
Script & Referral Renewals
Requests for renewals of scripts and referrals that have previously been provided can be completed online
General Practice
General telehealth consultations are available for those who have been seen face-to-face in the last 12 months at another service.
You may still book for a general telehealth consultation if you have not been seen face-to-face in the last 12 months but please note you will not be eligible for a medicare rebate.
Clinical Trials
Dr. Walsh is Principal Investigator on a number of clinical trials. If you are interested in participating, get in touch!

Venous leg ulcers
High triglycerides
Moderate atopic dermatitis
Post-Trial Care
After completion of a clinical trial with Dr. Walsh, or being assessed as not eligible for a trial, you can access our general practice services for up to 12 months
Prohibited services
Services we do NOT offer:
Prescribing restricted medications such as stimulants, sleeping tablets, or opiates
Workcover, TAC or DVA funding

Booking an appointment with us is easy. As a telehealth service, we do have flexibility in scheduling consultations. If a convenient time is not available, get in touch to see if we can coordinate a time that works!
Frequently Asked Questions
We are a private billing service, and thus consultations do attract an out-of-pocket cost. Bulk billing may be offered for the follow-up of results.
Yes! We are happy to see new patients. We can receive referrals via email or referralnet but this is not required. You can alternatively book directly with us.
As a fully telehealth-based service, we do not offer face-to-face appointments. If a face-to-face consultation is deemed necessary after your consultation, we will provide a referral to an appropriate provider to facilitate this.
